Checkpoint Systems’ antennas rolled out across Estonia through new agreement with the Tallinna Kaubamaja Group

One of the largest groups in the sphere of retail and wholesale trade in Estonia, the Tallinna Kaubamaja Group, has embarked on a project with Checkpoint Systems to roll out antennas within the group’s food retail offering, Kaubamaja – Toidumaailm (Food World).

The company, which contributes more than one tenth of retail trade in Estonia and has been recognised as the most competitive retail business in the country eight times, was striving for an open store environment without compromising on store design and security1

After meeting with Neto Baltic, Checkpoint’s authorized partner in the Baltic region in 2020, and visiting Checkpoint’s booth at Euroshop, the group decided to part with its existing EAS supplier to embark on a new business relationship with Checkpoint Systems. Aware that consumer emotion is a key trigger for the shopping experience, the group was looking for a modern EAS antenna that doesn’t impact on the customer experience. They were impressed by Checkpoint’s high performing solutions in a sleek, attractive design which complement the retailer’s overall vision for their store concept.

As part of this new roll out, the Tallinna Kaubamaja Group has installed the S20 antenna in its new food store in the Viru Shopping Mall. The new antennas are discreetly placed at store entrances to meet the retailer’s need for state-of-the-art technology along with stylish design. The S20, which is the world’s most compact full performance, customizable, RF EAS antenna, offers a visually appealing, streamlined design that maximizes trading space and keeps store entrances clear. Further to this, the group has chosen to install the NP20 antenna at the checkouts and self-checkout areas, offering the widest aisle width available in the retail industry for RF capabilities.

Speaking about the new partnership, Aivar Sarap, Maintenance and Security Manager at Kaubamaja said: “Our aim was to install the best performing security solutions which both enhance the store aesthetics and optimise the customer experience. We’ve chosen Checkpoint Systems for its technological capabilities and great design.”

Rokas Budvilaitis, Managing Director at Neto Baltic added: “We are pleased to have realised this project with the largest trading group in Estonia and are very proud of the first S20 installation in Baltic region.”

David Perez, EMEA Channel & Portugal Business Unit Managing Director at Checkpoint added: “NEO-enabled antennas provide the widest aisle widths on the market for RF solutions and the unique configuration of the S20 allows the traditional ‘gate’ appearance to be replaced with a visually elegant and sleek design. By introducing this pioneering technology, we have actively changed the industry dynamic, helping retailers balance loss prevention with aesthetics.”
